How important is telelvision during your self-catering holiday?
People who have SKY TV at home would most probably want a holiday cottage that also has it. All of the cottages that you can display by clicking on the photograph have SKY television, so that you don’t need to miss your favourite programmes on holiday.
The owners of self-catering accommodation are always trying to make their holiday homes as appealing as possible to continue filling the cottages, apartments and lodges, week after week. As living standards improve and people have more advanced televisions, cinema systems and SKY as standard entertainment packages at home, it tends to become the norm in holiday accommodation.
Some people have several televisions at home with access to SKY from all of them. This will be the case in a limited number of self-catering cottages, most likely at the more luxurious end of the range.
Virtually every holiday cottage has a television of some kind and if watching TV is something that you cannot live without on holiday, do ask for the details before booking. Each year, something new comes along, for example a streamed film watching service, and again, only the most expensive cottages will have signed up for this. Every additional facility costs money and this contributes to the overall rental rate.
It might make some people much more appreciative of what they have if they have to forgo SKY TV for a week or two.

Plan your evening entertainment to avoid boredom on holiday
Almost every holiday cottage will have a DVD player. Take a few films on DVDs to watch when the weather is terrible or to relax with in the evenings. That takes care of the no SKY situation if you like to watch the film channels. It’s difficult to do anything about sports programmes.
However, if there is Wi-Fi, you may be able to obtain sports coverage on your phone or tablet.
